A WEIGHTY QUESTION

This would seem to be the perfect place to discuss some of the sports world's most pressing questions, such as: Should teams have the players names on the backs of their uniforms? What follows is one such question.

***WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF "BATTING AROUND"***
Picasner has never heard or read any discussion on this topic. This is a "chicken or the egg" quandary and therefore, no one is going to be right or wrong.

Piscaner feels that once the ninth batter has had an at bat, that team has batted around. The only basis for this opinion is that announcers will make that statement when the ninth hitter appears and not the tenth. In fact, I do not recall them saying that when the tenth batter appears. They usually say, "so & so is the tenth batter of the inning."

Picasner hates to be in agreement with the sports opinion of a city that would sign Terrell Owens, but there it is.
